This page explains how to delete your Match Play: Practice Studio account and the data associated with it. Match Play is provided under the Acantivo brand.
1. Before you delete: cancel any subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a Match Play Plus subscription. Cancel it first, or it will keep renewing and billing you:
- App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Google Play: Play Store → Subscriptions.
- Web purchases: the Paddle customer portal linked from your receipt email.
2. Delete your account in the app (fastest)
- Open Match Play on iPhone, iPad, Android or the web, and sign in.
- Open Settings → Account & profile and choose Delete account.
- Confirm. For your security you may be asked to sign in again before the deletion completes.
This permanently deletes your account and the data listed below. It cannot be undone.
3. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email support_matchplay@acantivo.com with the subject "Account deletion request". Send it from the email address associated with your account, or tell us which account to delete, so we can verify and process your request.
4. What data is deleted
- Your Firebase Authentication account (email, Google, or Apple sign-in).
- Your profile and username. You no longer appear in user search, and your username becomes available again.
- Every piece you own, with its PDF scores, annotations and markups, highlights, comments, to-dos, cards, audio and video recordings, and other uploaded files. This includes pieces you shared with other people, who lose access to them.
- Your access to pieces other people shared with you.
- Your account records, privacy settings, ML training consent records, and training archives that have not yet been used.
5. What data is kept and for how long
- Comments, recordings, or other contributions you added to pieces owned by other people stay part of those pieces. Pieces others shared with you are not deleted.
- Feedback you sent us may be kept to support past requests.
- Subscription and purchase records are kept by the App Store, Google Play, Paddle, and RevenueCat as billing and tax rules require.
- Limited diagnostic and log data, such as crash reports and analytics, may be retained for a limited period for security and reliability.
- If you had turned on ML training, data already used to train a model cannot be removed from that model, but it will not be used for future training.
- We keep retained data only until it is no longer needed for support, security, or legal purposes.
